How it works

Operated by Arriva, this new service which is known as Fastrack Route A, will link with the existing Route B to give travellers in Dartford a wider rapid transport service and even more reason to leave the car at home. With a fleet of 12 new Fastrack vehicles, designed to make the journey as comfortable as possible, Fastrack Route A will run services up to every six minutes, seven days a week from 6.00am to midnight.

Every new Fastrack bus station is equipped with:

Real time passenger information.

An information point with live Fastrack bus and railway times including travel updates, local news and weather.

CCTV cameras and audio help points.

Ticket vending machines with payment by cash or Smartcard.

As well as being comfortable and reliable, the new Fastrack Route A will give passengers the reassurance that they can travel safely. There are seven CCTV cameras on every new vehicle and the new bus stations that ProLogis has built along the route are equipped with three CCTV cameras linked to a helpline. Each camera will be monitored at the control centre that has been built at The Bridge, so any potential emergency can be dealt with immediately.

Purchasing your ticket before you travel means fewer delays and a faster journey. Tickets may be bought in advance either from vending machines at Fastrack Route A stops or from Arriva travel shops in Dartford and Gravesend. Passengers travelling on Fastrack Route A must purchase a ticket in advance, because no tickets will be available from the driver.

All stops on Fastrack Route A are within one single zone (the Dartford and Bluewater fare zone). Passengers can connect with Fastrack Route B at Bluewater, Greenhithe Rail Station and Dartford town centre for onward travel across all three Kent Thameside fare zones.
