Operated by Arriva, this new service which is known as Fastrack Route A, will link with the existing Route B to give travellers in Dartford a wider rapid transport service and even more reason to leave the car at home. With a fleet of 12 new Fastrack vehicles, designed to make the journey as comfortable as possible, Fastrack Route A will run services up to every six minutes, seven days a week from 6.00am to midnight.
With their own traffic-free busways and priority at traffic lights, both Fastrack routes glide past traffic jams to get travellers to their destination on time. To make the journey time even faster, Route A passengers can buy their tickets before they travel. In September 2007, the new Fastrack only bridge over the A282 opened. This new bridge spans the road between the toll booths and the start of the Dartford tunnel, so travelers have the satisfaction of sailing over the top of the traffic and leaving all the congestion behind.
