Government Minister Caroline Flint, Housing Minister at the Department for Communities and Local Government, visited The Bridge at Dartford during her tour of flagship regeneration sites in Kent Thameside and Medway.

At The Bridge, a £500 million joint venture between ProLogis and Dartford Borough Council, Caroline Flint, who is also Minister for the Thames Gateway, welcomed the integrated commercial and residential development as setting new standards of sustainability for the Thames Gateway.

The Bridge has been designed as a knowledge-based community that encourages and supports new ideas and during her tour the Minister visited some facilities that are already in place. These include the on-site LearningShop and the innovation laboratory - or I-Lab - which has been funded by Communities and Local Government.

Looking at the first of Taylor Wimpey’s homes at The Bridge, the Minister met some of the development’s new residents.
